Sto. Domingo Church

Sto.Domingo Church was built by the Dominican Order under the supervision of Bishop Domingo De Salazar,OP of Intramuros, Manila. It was a wooden structure then. It was reconstructed again together with the convent after it collapsed in 1589 but this time it was made up of concrete. It was called "Our Lady of the Rosary" or "Our Lady of La Naval".

It was relocated to Quezon City after getting lot of destruction during the World War 2.The image is credited for having saved the city from a Dutch invasion in 1646. It is honored in a much celebrated religious festival.

The church is one of the tallest and largest in the Philippines. The main altar has a mosaic of St. Dominic designed by Architect Jose Zaragoza. Galo Ocampo designed the stained glass windows. The mural in front was created by Francesco Riccardo Monti.

Election 2013 Quezon City Edition

In Quezon City, the Liberal Party as well as familiar surnames look to retain their stronghold in the city’s political arena. The creation of two new legislative districts out of the second district last year, however, brought together fresh and returning names, all vying for Congress and City Council seats.

The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) put up a minor fight in Metro Manila’s largest city, having no ticket to challenge incumbent Mayor Herbert Bautista [LP] and Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte [LP], and only fielding candidates for five of the six Congress seats. Independent candidates Johnny Chang and Rolando Jota of the “Better QC” ticket will attempt to outvote Bautista and Belmonte for the City Hall race.
Speaking of the Belmontes, House Speaker Feliciano “Sonny” Belmonte’s [LP] run for a second term is challenged anew by PMP’s Hans Palacios, while his nephew Jose Christopher “Kit” Belmonte [LP] runs unopposed as Representative of  the newly-created 6th District. Kit Belmonte lost his 2nd District Congress bid in 2010. Two of Sonny’s other nephews, Ricardo Jr. and Vicente Eric Jr., run for re-election in the 1st and 4th Districts, respectively.
The Castelo-Sotto clan fielded candidates for councilor in every district, save the first one: Precious Hipolito-Castelo [LP] in the second district, actor Gian Carlo Sotto [LP] and singer Anthony Castelo [Ind.] in the third district; Jessica Castelo-Daza [LP] in the 4th district, Karl Edgar Castelo [LP] in the 5th district, and actress Lala Sotto [LP] in the 6th district. Also, Rep. Winston Castelo [LP] is seeking re-election in the second district, but is challenged by the returning Chuck Mathay [Ind./UNA], who lost to Castelo in 2010.
In the fight for the 1st district Congress seat, Rita Crisologo [UNA], seeking to replace his husband outgoing Rep. Vincent Crisologo, faces off against Coun. Francisco Calalay, Jr. [LP] The 3rd District Congress match-up will be a 2010 rematch of sorts between re-electionist Rep. Jorge John Banal [LP] and former Cong. Matias Defensor, Jr. [UNA].
In the newly-created 5th District, actor and councilor Alfred Vargas [LP] goes up against two Congress veterans, Dante Liban [UNA] and Annie Rosa Susano [KKK], as well as radio commentator Isagani Oro [Aksyon Demokratiko].
Names in italics are incumbent candidates running for re-election.

Election 2013 Manila City Edition

In the nation’s capital, two political bigwigs vie for the mayoralty post in a contest dubbed as “Dirty Harry vs Asiong Salonga“. Incumbent Mayor Alfredo Lim [LP], seeking a second term, go head-to-head against former President Joseph Estrada [UNA]. Last May 8, 2012, Estrada moved to Manila from San Juan City, where he served as mayor from 1969 to 1986.

Vice Mayor Isko Domagoso [UNA], however, shifted allegiance and chose to run alongside Estrada. This prompted Lim to pick 2010 elections topnotcher, 6th District Coun. Lou Veloso [KKK], a former actor like Domagoso, as his running-mate.
All six re-electionist Representatives are under Mayor Lim’s LP-KKK ticket, but 23 of 28 re-electionist councilors are part of Estrada’s UNA line-up.

Names in italics are incumbent candidates running for re-election.

Election 2013 Philippines: Senatoriable Edition

Who will you pick?
Based on the Surveys:
Is it credible? Is this surveys will change the flow of the upcoming Elections?

First, let's back up their profiles and see who really they are. These are my opinions which are based from what I research. I'll try to make it as short and straight to the point.
#1 Loren Legarda
Legarda is a notable advocate of Climate Change Awareness and has numerous achievements in the fields of social development and human rights advocacy along with her work in journalism. She also has a lot of criticisms, mostly on her advocacy. Still, staying safe and have background on how the media can criticize that's why there's no way that she could have a terrible image. In my opinion, She's been in the office from 1998 until now, and me as a Filipino Citizen, I can't feel any of her ammendments and projects even if its about climate change.
#2 Chiz Escuder
This man's meteoric rise into the nation's consciousness as a leader has earned him several distinctions, including becoming a TOYM  awardee in recognition of his selfless dedication as a youth leader. He has not gone unnoticed; in 2007, he was the only Filipino named as Asia News Network's Asia's Idols. He has also been honored by the prestigious World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader of 2008 in recognition of his professional accomplishments, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world. He had these achievements but break up with her wife, and very irritating frenzy to his new girlfriend. He couldn't fix it all up. You couldn't fix yourself and yet he wants to assume to the Senate AGAIN. Continue to criticize the past government and people who try to accuse him. ACTIONS are more important than promises.
#3 Alan Cayetano
AGAIN like the person mention above. More on promises and files of cases through their opponents but did he have projects? He always have statements that caused media attention to create good image from him but did from way back when he started his career as a senator, did you see his projects?

#4 JV Ejercito
Please don't vote for him. Please. That's all.
#5 Jack Enrile
The son of our Great Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, but again, Please don't vote for him. It just the same as the person above him in the standings.
#6 Antonio Trillanes IV
I can't believe people vote Him. He's one of the leaders of the 2003 Oakwood Mutiny. I'm not against their protest of rampant corruption. He was in prison but elected as Senator? What?! Only in the Philippines. :))
#7 Gregorio Honasan
This was the person why like Antonio Trillanes won the elections. Same Process, just different persons but the funny thing was They still won the elections. :))
#8 Koko Pimentel
Mr. Pimentel has a lot to prove about what he can do more in Senate. Good and Clean image. What more can you ask for? He has a good direction, Let's just see from his platforms can be implemented in the upcoming years.
#9 Migz Zubiri
He always been in the good side of politics. Even amidst of criticisms and results from the previous election, He still backs it up and pursue his direction and goals. And I think from what he acted upon what happened last time, He can used to manuever himself and win in this election.
#10 Sonny Angara
If his own people from his district don't believe in him. Why the nation believe him? Last year, in the lantern parade, I saw some people from his province protesting the Angara's. Even if he's own school doesn't support him. It's because he ousted the former chief justice. It's because he proposed a lot of ammendments and laws?. Can you feel his actions?
#11 Cynthia Villar
Again, Please don't vote for her. That's all.
#12 Nancy Binay
His Father and Brother were great public servants because of huge background and experience. But still, please don't voter her. But I'm happy if she stay as a housewife for her family.
What are your thoughts? Who are your picks? Vote Wisely!

Classic Food in the Street of Asturias in Manila

There is a fastfood cafeteria/sizzling house in Asturias St. in Manila. It was like a catering business that open their cafeteria to get attention to students and give promotion from their catering services.

They have only small place for their tables. They have really good meals like sizzling plates, tapsilog, sandwiches and pastas. Their Best sellers are Cordon Bleu, Fish Fillet with Tartar Sauce and Calamares. The one thing also why students love eat here because of the Extra Refill of Iced Tea. You can have these meal ranges from 40 Pesos until 80 Pesos. You could have Extra Rice if its half (5 Pesos) or a whole cup of rice (10 Pesos).

The one thing I love about their food is because of their serving! The Prices are really cheap for me from what they serve. I really love it especially the Cordon Bleu and Fish Fillet!

I Scored this Food Trip. 4.5/5 :)

Enjoy Eating!
